Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya’s most beautiful freshwater lakes, sitting at 1,884m — the highest of all the Rift Valley lakes. Just 90km from Nairobi, it is a popular escape offering a rich diversity of activities. The lake’s shores are fringed with papyrus reeds and yellow fever acacia trees, providing habitat for hippos, colobus monkeys, and a remarkable variety of waterbirds.
Adjacent to the lake is Hell’s Gate National Park — one of Kenya’s most unique parks, and the inspiration for the Disney film “The Lion King.” It is one of the only parks in Kenya where visitors can walk or cycle freely among wildlife through dramatic gorges, geothermal hot springs, and towering red cliffs. The Maasai Cultural Village nearby offers an authentic glimpse into traditional life.
